✨️ For reference, I am about 165cm tall, so the recommended size for a furisode is generally ±10cm of your height (155-175cm). Usually, if the mitake (length) is about the same as your height, it can be adjusted with the ohashori (tucked fabric at the waist). However, for fuller figures, the mitake tends to be shorter, so it's recommended to have an extra 8-10cm allowance beyond your height. (From the web)

Also, it is generally said that if you shorten the sleeves of a furisode, it becomes a houmongi (visiting kimono). After wearing it for your Coming-of-Age ceremony or after marriage, you can shorten the sleeves to wear it for celebratory occasions for a long time.
