Own a true piece of audio history with this Sony D-50 Portable Compact Disc Player, the world's first commercially released portable CD player, originally introduced in 1984. Manufactured in Japan, the D-50 helped launch the portable CD revolution and remains highly collectible among vintage audio enthusiasts. Features include top-loading CD mechanism, LCD track/time display, headphone output, line out, and external DC input. This unit shows normal cosmetic wear from age, including light scratches and scuffs consistent with vintage use. Battery compartment is clean. Functional testing has NOT been performed due to lack of the correct power supply/battery pack. Therefore, this player is being sold AS-IS for parts, repair, restoration, or collector display.
