Pour in a hot drink and the Stealth Fighter does exactly what it was famous for: it disappears. This wonderfully clever 1989 F-117A Stealth Fighter heat-change mug celebrates Lockheed's unmistakable angular stealth aircraft with a thermochromic design built around its ability to evade radar. When the mug is cool, one side shows the F-117A flying among the clouds while the other depicts the aircraft in the center of a radar screen. With the addition of hot liquid, the heat-sensitive design changes and the aircraft disappears from both scenes, creating a fun visual interpretation of the F-117A's stealth technology. The design is marked © 1989 Lion Marketing, Atlanta, GA. Beyond being a vintage coffee mug, this is a particularly fun display piece for a collector of military aviation, Cold War memorabilia, F-117 Nighthawk collectibles, Lockheed/Skunk Works history, or vintage heat-changing magic mugs. Condition: Excellent vintage pre-owned condition. This mug appears to have seen little, if any, actual use. No obvious chips or cracks noted. The heat-change feature remains functional. As with any vintage thermochromic item, the effect may not perform exactly as it did when new. Please review all photographs carefully for design and condition, as they are part of the description. A great piece of late-Cold-War aviation memorabilia from 1989, combining the futuristic mystique of the F-117A with one of the era's more entertaining novelty-mug designs.
