This is a white oak staff made by Shintome Bokuto Seisakusho in Miyakonojo City, measuring 130 cm in length and 26 mm in diameter. It was purchased directly from the workshop. While it does not have a maker's mark, it is indeed made by Shintome Bokuto Seisakusho. It is also almost perfectly straight. At 130 cm, it is slightly longer than standard staff lengths, but it offers good maneuverability. The diameter is 26 mm, which is thicker than the standard 8 sun 2.5 bu (approximately 25 mm). I used this staff for training during my student instruction sessions (once a month for several years). There are some scuff marks from impact, but I have maintained it, so they are very shallow and do not interfere with any movements. Currently, domestically produced white oak staffs cost over 10,000 yen. This item is made of dense material and weighs 630g. This is something you wouldn't know unless you used it, but because of the dense material, vibrations are not transmitted to your hands even when struck, so you won't experience numbness or have the staff knocked from your grip. Once you experience high-density martial arts equipment, you can't go back to lighter equipment. I have four staffs in my possession with diameters of 24 mm, 24 mm, 26 mm, and 30 mm.
