| Product details |
Kromex was an American manufacturer founded in the 1930s that specialized in chrome-plated and stainless steel housewares, becoming particularly popular during the mid-20th century. The company was known for producing affordable, modern kitchen and serving accessories that embodied the sleek, streamlined aesthetic of the post-war era. Kromex trays, canisters, and bread boxes became staples in American households during the 1950s through 1970s, valued for their durability, easy maintenance, and contemporary styling that complemented modern kitchen designs. Kromex serving trays appeal to collectors of mid-century modern kitchenware, vintage home décor enthusiasts, and those seeking functional retro serving pieces. These items are valued by collectors of American housewares for their historical significance as examples of mass-produced modern design that made stylish entertaining accessible to middle-class families. The Kromex brand has developed a dedicated following among vintage kitchen collectors who appreciate the quality construction and distinctive mid-century aesthetic of these practical yet attractive serving pieces. Item does show typical wear and light scratches from use. No dents or heavy scratches to mar the tray.
