Up for sale is an incredibly rare, authentic piece of eyewear history: a pair of Vintage Carrera Model 5556 oversized shield sunglasses from the 1980s. Manufactured in Austria, this iconic silhouette features a bold, seamless single-lens look across a massive matte black frame, perfectly capturing the peak era of 1980s avant-garde sport luxury. Pop Culture History: This exact Carrera 5556 model is a legendary silhouette famously worn by hip-hop icon Rick Ross, making it an absolute grail piece for vintage eyewear collectors, stylists, and streetwear enthusiasts alike. Condition Notes Frames & Lenses: Pre-owned vintage condition. The matte black frame is structurally solid and straight with crisp, classic Carrera branding on both temples. Stamped inner arm reads MADE IN AUSTRIA Mod.5556 90. The lenses show minor, typical signs of light surface wear consistent with age, but they still present beautifully. Included Accessory: This pair incredibly retains its original, highly collectible white, black, and red adjustable elastic Carrera performance safety strap. The strap hardware is fully functional and clips securely onto the hook-tip ear stems. Please review all provided photos carefully to assess cosmetic condition details before purchasing. Item is sold as-is.
