| Product details |
Dating back to the 1950s or 1960s, this iconic crouching tiger features a beautifully detailed roaring pose set upon a textured, molded base. Painted in a striking, glossy sunshine yellow with hand-painted black stripes and a pop of red cold paint inside its open mouth, this piece perfectly embodies the kitschy, tiki, and safari aesthetics of the era. Originally popularized as a TV top planter, this highly versatile piece is hollowed out along the back, making it perfect for holding small succulents, air plants, or cacti. If plants aren't your style, it functions beautifully as a vintage dresser caddy for keys, a desk organizer for pens, or a standalone statement figurine for your shelf. Condition: * Excellent Vintage Condition. This piece has been exceptionally well preserved. * Rare Cold Paint Intact: Unlike most examples on the market, the original red cold-painted mouth details are mostly intact, vibrant, and free of the typical severe flaking or wash-off. * No chips, cracks, fleabites, or structural repairs. * The glossy yellow glaze remains bright and vibrant. * Minor, normal age-appropriate crazing may be present upon close inspection, which is typical for authentic ceramic pottery of this age and adds to its vintage character. * Please review all photos for a close-up view of the pristine paint and glaze. Shipping: * This will be packed securely with plenty of bubble wrap and shipped in a sturdy box to ensure it arrives in its current excellent condition.
