MCM Import / Made in Japan Pottery: The unglazed tan bottom foot with a lightly brushed finish, paired with the distinctly thick, glossy white interior glaze featuring fine overall crazing, is characteristic of mid-century Japanese export art pottery (circa late 1960s to 1970s). These pieces were typically marked only with a paper foil label on the unglazed base, which washed or peeled off over time. Internal Drainage Pin-Holes: The interior shot reveals two small structural holes near the inner rim. These are production pin-holes designed to vent steam from the hollow handles during kilning, preventing the thick handles from cracking or bursting under heat.
