🐧 Three penguins, one iceberg, and a little piece of 1979! Wonderful vintage Otagiri Japan hand-painted ceramic penguin music box, dated 1979 and titled “I’m Sitting on the Top of the World.” The whimsical design features three black-and-white penguins perched around a snowy iceberg surrounded by sculpted blue ocean waves. 🎶 Best part — it WORKS! The music box has been tested and is functioning. Original markings are still present, including: * HANDPAINTED © OTAGIRI 1979 label * Original “I’m Sitting on the Top of the World” – OTAGIRI JAPAN bottom label * © OTAGIRI 1979 marking on wooden underside * Approximately 7” tall * Approximately 5” across * Hand-painted ceramic/porcelain construction A fantastic display piece for an Otagiri collector, vintage music-box collector, penguin lover, or anyone who appreciates quirky Japanese ceramics from the 1970s. Pre-owned vintage condition with age-appropriate signs of handling/display. Please examine all photographs closely, as they are part of the condition description. Tested & working! 🐧 A charming survivor from 1979 that’s ready to keep playing for its next owner.
