Bring dramatic 1960s statement style to your collection with this vintage Accessocraft NYC Maltese cross brooch featuring a striking blue chatoyant (cat's eye) cabochon. Made in New York City during the 1960s, Accessocraft became known for its substantial costume jewelry inspired by Etruscan Revival and Renaissance Revival designs, combining antiqued silver-tone finishes, ornate acanthus motifs, and bold faux gemstones. This collectible example reflects the Gothic-inspired aesthetic that made the company a favorite among fashion designers and department stores. Has a fur clip / guard attachment to originally intended to stabilize the brooch on heavier garments like fur or wool. Measures approximately 2 x 2 in., weighs 27 g, with a 19 x 14 mm cabochon. Condition: Light age-related wear to the silver-tone finish. The blue cabochon has surface scratches consistent with vintage use but retains strong chatoyant color and displays beautifully.
