This is a listing for the HO-50, a mid-grade model from ORIENTE. When I acquired it, the string height was high (especially on the D and A strings), so I had it adjusted by a workshop to a more playable string height. I also adjusted the soundpost (position) to ensure good resonance from the low to high strings, although the G string still has a slightly peculiar tone. I tried changing the strings and other adjustments, but further tuning may be necessary for that aspect. Additionally, the back of the neck and the fingerboard showed some signs of use, so I had them polished by a workshop as well. I have previously acquired and offered several ORIENTE contrabasses on this site, including models other than the HO-50, such as the HO-20, HO-38, HO-40, and HO-58. I've found that each instrument has its own individual characteristics, and price alone (or specifications like solid top or all solid wood) cannot fully determine its quality. This particular instrument has a good balance and response from the low to high range among the ORIENTE basses I've handled, and I highly recommend it. When I first got it, it was heavily soiled with rosin and other residues, but I have cleaned almost all of it. There are some scuffs and scratches visible on the back, sides, and top, but they do not affect playability in any way. I cannot arrange for shipping through a delivery company, so please arrange for pickup at my home in Higashi Ward, Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, or in Nishi Ward, Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. For locations within Yamagata Prefecture or nearby areas such as south of Akita City in Akita Prefecture, north of Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture, or north of Niigata City in Niigata Prefecture, I can deliver to a designated location near you for the actual cost of fuel and other expenses. If you are along the Tohoku Shinkansen line, I can deliver to a station near you for the actual cost of transportation. (I can also accommodate locations in Tokyo, such as Ueno Station.)
